Rosé wine Leos cuvée Augusta 2023 – 150 CL Magnum

High-end and exceptional rosé wine / Organic

Rosé Leos cuvée Augusta

The balance, finesse and good aromatic persistence of this organic rosé make it primarily intended for lovers of great rosés, for aperitifs and meals.
Character
The Leos « Cuvée Augusta” rosé’s character comes from the fine balance between the Grenache that gives a good foundation to the structure and aromas, the Bourboulenc that adds fullness and the Vermentino which gives a lovely fresh finish. It is also the result of a subtle blend of the the natural freshness that the Ventoux offers, the precise, elegant aromas of the Luberon, and the focus and richness of the Alpilles.
Tasting notes
The « rose petal » pale colour offers a beautiful shine. The first nose is seductive, with very floral notes and white-fleshed fruits. The mouth is ample with lots of roundness. The attack is frank, a fine length in mouth establishes itself and leaves a nice aromatic persistence.
GASTRONOMIC COMBINATIONS
Noted 91/100 points by the Decanter guide, the Leos rosé is a gastronomic rosé which can be served at the aperitif or during meals where its perfect balance between freshness and roundness will accompany perfectly with exceptional dishes. For a first course, you could accompany the cuvée Augusta with a tomato salad, a ceviche, or a beef carpaccio. It is generally perfect with most of Mediterranean dishes et especially with white meats and seafood. And the end of a meal, it marries very well with goat cheeses (with of course a drizzle of H de Leos olive oil!), sorbets and most fruit desserts. Our favourite is a glass of Leos with un goat cheese accompanied by the wild thyme confit from the Domaine. An explosion of flavours, to be enjoyed between 8° and 11°C.
Producer
The LEOS CUVEE AUGUSTA rosé was created by the teams of DOMAINE DE LEOS (Patrick BRUEL) and those of MAISON & DOMAINE LES ALEXANDRINS (Nicolas JABOULET). Their common desire to seek excellence, their shared taste for a gastronomic rosé, their passion for the terroirs and their strong commitment to a more virtuous economy brought them together and allowed them to pool their know-how to develop this exceptional organic rosé.

testimonials

Great names also pay tribute to the exceptional Leos "Cuvée Augusta" rosé wine
« Served cold from the ice bucket, this wine initially appeared simple with fruity strawberry bonbon and fresh leafy notes ; long, fresh and mineral with a gently phenolic finish. But wow ! As the wine warmed up in the glass, all the floral, rich and creamy notes typical of Bourboulenc filled out the palate, balanced by the freshness of the Rolle and the red fruit of the Grenache, creating altogetjer characterful rosé ».

“Nicolas Jaboulet & Patrick Bruel created, from their first vintage, a tasty and smooth rosé, predestined for fine gastronomy. Style of choice for a rosé of taste, in good shape. Although the task of producing a rosé worthy of the name is very popular, the successes are not always happy. However, rosé deserves all the attention in the vineyard and then in the cellar before being appreciated like any great wine. The Augusta Rosée vintage, born under the auspices of the endearing 2022 vintage, at the Leos estate, is one of the major successes in IGP Méditerranée. As a good student monopolizing the first places, Augusta offers the qualifiers of an exemplary rosé, namely: A real diversity of perfumes (incense, blood orange and white pepper), far from the varietal ones. A multiplicity of textures combining a slender approach and very fine tannic flesh. And finally, as with any great wine, an aromatic persistence that permeates the senses. Beautiful table moments reach out to him and are so many promises of marked flavors. We will gladly bring it closer, serving it carafed with escabeche red mullet seasoned with saffron, a piece of matured beef, marinated then glazed with a little tomato pulp or a Chèvre du Rove and sweet onion confit will also reserve the best welcome.”

“We imagined the LEOS rosé cuvée Augusta 2022 as a white wine with a subtle balance between acidity and fat. The rose petal color is very engaging. On the nose, an elegant   freshness emerges. A scent of floral notes recalls the significant presence of white grape variety in the blend. On the palate, the attack is frank and refined. The finish is long, persistent and always on its balance between freshness and roundness.  LEOS is obviously enjoyed as an aperitif but this wine with its strong character will accompany dishes with Mediterranean flavors  » .
